Iframe Preserver
DOWNLOAD Iframe Preserver plugin
Iframe Preserver allows you to easily embed an iframe and preserves your embedded iframes by allowing use of WordPress’ Custom Fields. Which keeps TinyMCE from stripping out the iframe in Visual editing mode. And you do not need to do any editing or modification to the shortcode or iframe code. Works great for all iframe embeds including YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, Scribd, even Real Estate IDXs and more.
Just place the shortcode “field name=iframe” (using brackets instead of quotes) in the page or post where you would like the iframe to appear and in the Custom Fields section for Name enter “iframe” (less quotes) and for Value paste in the exact iframe code you are provided and wish to display. You can do this in either Visual mode or HTML mode, it will not make a difference.
If you cannot find the Custom Fields options in your editing screen, go to the upper right corner and click on “Screen Options” and make sure that Custom Fields is checked to display.
To install the Iframe Preserver plugin:
- Download and unzip the iframe-preserver.zip file
- Upload the iframe-preserver folder to your plugins directory
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

Shortcodes in Sidebar Widgets
DOWNLOAD Shortcodes in Sidebar Widgets plugin
Shortcodes in Sidebar Widgets plugin adds a light-weight filter which will allow shortcodes to properly execute when used in sidebar text widgets. Standard WordPress does not support the use of shortcodes in sidebars, this plugin “fixes” that. By having it as a plugin it works without needing to edit a theme’s functions file. The advantage is you can change your WordPress theme and your sidebar shortcodes will continue to work without needing to edit the theme functions every time.
All that is needed is to download, install and activate. I have found this plugin extremely useful for placing things like contact forms and other shortcode enabled features in sidebars.
