New Kertesz replacement upgrade with complete WordPress 3.0 and up goodness – Get It Now!

July 1, 2010 by Marc Leave a Comment

The theme upgrade for Kertesz and Kertesz II site owners is now available!  As is my policy for compatibility, security and to make sure that my clients have every possibility of getting the best results for their site, the theme upgrade files are no charge.

To receive the theme upgrade files all you need to do is fill out the upgrade request form in the sidebar to the right.   I will then send you an email asking if you want to install the theme files or if you prefer that I do it and at the same time I will review your site and upgrade and enhance it version of WP and associated plugins as needed.  The charge for the site “tune-up”, theme install and its initial setup is just $25.00.  In either option you will receive instructions and support in making the new theme represent your design and site.

The new Kertesz is a break from the old.  In fact I have chosen to upgrade, really replace Kertesz with an entirely new theme code base and structure.  The site layout and the style sheet will be familiar, but because of the amazing functions and features now possible in WordPress I have chosen to upgrade my clients from the theme I had prepared … to a full premium parent/child theme structure published by one of the very leading WordPress theme companies.  It is not just an upgrade of the old, it is a replament with the new. Besides being even easier to use, the Kertesz replacement offers these advantages

  • Parent/child theme structure means easier upgrades and future WP new feature compatibility without losing your theme customizations.
  • One click theme upgrades.  Now you can upgrade the theme functions just like you upgrade plugins.  This will help make sure your site is able to use the latest WP enhancements and remain secure.
  • Built-in exclusive custom widgets and plugins for everything from sharing tweaks to showing off your latest posts.
  • Lots of easy to use configuration panels to make change and configure menus, page layouts, add Google scripts,  etc., without coding.  For example, with just a click you can select different side bar arrangement for every page.
  • Built-in SEO tools and features.

Similar to Apple’s move from OS 9 to the Linux based OS 10 this is a significant change.  All your existing site pages and posts will move naturally into the new theme but you will need to change your main page slider and revise the main page content.  Plus set the color codes and header image in the new style sheet to your design preference.

I have recently put together the four sites below using the new Kertesz replacement   I love the new more refined styling and easier to use features.  Here are some recent sites I have created with the new Kertesz replacement:

To get your site’s new Kertesz replacement upgrade, just complete the form on the right sidebar.

Kertesz2 screen cap Introducing the new Kertesz2 with limited time savings

Photographers have long been considered visionaries of our industry in terms of internet marketing. They were among the first on the web and the first to see the value in the heavy use of images in marketing to brides. But in choosing their website platform they have faced a dilemma, select a Flash template like Bludomain for its optical appeal or choose a standard HTML type site sacrificing optics but getting much better search engine traffic. They know they need a visually beautiful site to show off their images and talent. But the brides, over 90% of whom use Google to help plan their wedding, never see the photographer’s website in the search listings. Kertesz2 is the remedy

Building on the inputs of our clients and the advancements in WordPress over the last year we have totally reinvented Kertesz, with Kertesz2. The code base is all new! (and 30% larger.) Fully compatible with WordPress 2.8 and using all the 2.8 features. Compatible with the past and even better, it takes advantage of today’s new features in an even easier to use and customize theme. If you are currently using WordPress it is easy to add Kertesz2.

Using the technology of Kertesz2 we have increased our clients website traffic 500% in less that 4 weeks. We have even taken brand new domains to front page Google search search results, also in less than a month.

Kertesz2 retains all the features of the old Kertesz, updated. Better, more interactive, easier to design main page options, improved photo galleries and contact forms. Easier to style and with more impressive graphics. If you already have a Flash based website, like Bludomain, with the inherently poor search potential, Kertesz2 can easily replace your splash page, making it easy to add search friendly content, integrate your blog and Twitter and Facebook feeds and rapidly move your existing Flash site towards the front of Google.

Regardless of your situation Kertesz2 will increase your site traffic and prospective clients. If you have any questions just send me an email.

“Wedding Professional Success” is changing to “Internet Marketing Success for Professionals”

June 7, 2009 by Marc Leave a Comment

It is mostly the site name that is changing.  The rest of it is taking what I have helped pioneer for wedding professionals websites and internet marketing  and sharing it with other small business professionals that also want to increase their internet marketing effectiveness and improve their income.  I have really grown tired of seeing sub-par, sub-performing expensive Flash (like Bludomain), Dreamweaver or Frontpage site templates bogging small business people down with lousy search page rankings.

It is is time for change.  It is time share the opportunity of low cost, self manageable websites and no-nonsense internet marketing tactics that will allow small business owners to compete effectively and expand their business.

I have had many requests this year to apply what I have developed for wedding professional to other business.  And to great results.  Knowing something the business helps to keep costs low and improve effectiveness.  We don’t change to learn on your dime.  Sso we will still be limited, just specializing in a few fields that we know.  Over the next few days I will share a couple of other, non-wedding business we have helped get better than ever internet marketing results.

We will offer more than ever, to wedding professionals and now few others.

It lives! Bing goes live, early

June 1, 2009 by Marc Leave a Comment

It was supposed to be here on June 3rd and here Bing is on June 1st. What can I say … how about “damn, that’s a mighty pretty search engine”.

bing screen capture It lives! Bing goes live, early

That’s hot air ballons in Turkey. And if you install Microsoft’s Silverlight, you get a full animation experience of the interface. Pretty cool, what? And that is before you even do a search. Never thought of search as wallpaper, a new paradigm?

But how does that relate to actual searching, or as Microsoft wants us to do … decide? I dunno. No need to wonder though, with a marketing budget for Bing alone that is 4 times Google’s entire annual marketing budget … I am sure Microsoft will tell us.

Until then based upon some searches I performed related to very recent client sites, it seems Bing’s indexing is a fair ways behind Google’s. But Bing is live a little early, so try your own searches and let’s see how the index increases. For Microsoft’s sake I hope they are not in the bubble on this. Did I mention, Bing … it’s a real pretty search engine.

Changes, adding more than wedding professionals

May 29, 2009 by Marc Leave a Comment

Over the next few days/weeks the blog will be changing, or rather adding to, its wedding professional emphasis. Not sure how it will come to fit together, but here is what is coming.

As our reputation has grown in getting results for out wedding pros, they have also lead us into allied areas. For example we are just completing a site for a regional wedding professionals association and a jewelry retailer. And even completed a few sites for real estate brokers that are helping to contribute to their best year ever in over 25 years in the profession.

More importantly we will remain with what we know applying our internet marketing talent and knowledge to particular areas. We will always remain in areas where we understand and have experience. In addition to weddings and reaching brides, we have professional experience that we can “bring to the table” in:

  • Retail (mostly jewelry/gifts)
  • Real estate brokerage
  • Membership and professional organizations
  • Restaurants and specialty foods, and
  • Health care, physician’s offices, clinics.

So it will not be completely unfocused, nor will we try to participate in areas where we will learn at the clients expense.

When you chose someone to work for you and advise you on internet marketing and your web presence be sure that they not only know internet marketing and websites, but perhaps more importantly know the realities of your business. Every business has its own universe of methods, rules and practice.

All our efforts are based in what we have done for wedding professionals and similarly use WordPress for amazing results together with social media and email marketing.

Live Search is dead … Long live Bing

May 28, 2009 by Marc Leave a Comment

Over this weekend Microsoft is replacing Live Search with it’s new search service named Bing.  Microsoft is promising a number of improvements of their previous search engine, Live Search, and even over Google.  I have read through both Microsoft’s Bing announcement and ZDNet’s technical summary of Bing.

Both articles seem to indicate that much of a website’s search results position will be determined by Bing adapting to the user’s search queries.  Meaning the through and nuanced content in a search engine friendly structure (like WordPress) will remain important.  Particularly as Bing also promises improved extraction/indexing and matching. and there are some nice interface features planned.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing we know about Bing so far, is the amazing advertising budget … $80 – $100 MILLION!  It is said that most recent nationwide consumer roll-out advertising budgets have ranged between 10 -30 mill.  Microsoft is putting some major money behind Bing. Part of the positioning is to label Bing as a “decision engine” rather than a “search engine”.  Good luck.

In the coming weeks it will be interesting to review our website referral logs and see how many more referrals will come from Bing as compared to Live.

Also notable by omission … no mention of any improved opportunities for Flash based websites in Microsoft’s announcements.

Bada bing, Bing Crosby, bing cherries?  No idea what the Bing logo and webpage presentation will look like, although TechCrunch appears to have found the Bing favicon a few days ago.  It seems rather dull, for a word like BING!

Bing is supposed to go live on June3 at Bing.com

Some New Years Day Black Eyed Peas for Good Fortune and Motivation in 2009

January 1, 2009 by Marc Leave a Comment

Record breaking success is always a challenge, and without doubt 2009 will be a very challenging environment for all wedding professionals. Now before we begin, how about we take a little time today for pay heed to past customs and today’s pulse with Black Eyed Peas. It can’t harm.

My mother’s folks were from the Southern USA and our New Years Day diet always recognized the custom of consuming Black Eyed Peas as a way to help make sure of good fortune in the New Year. In fact, I will have some early this New Year’s morning with eggs and bacon. And. there are lots of other, even tastier, ways to prepare them. If you don’t like or have any Black Eyed Peas (the first two stores I went to were all sold-out) perhaps just a few moments of meditating while gazing at a photo will help ensure good fortune in 2009.

But really, we all know diet is only part of being successful. A larger part is persistently creatively effectively constantly … actually working towards success. So what could be better than working to the fast driving pulse of the Black Eyed Peas?!

Here is some Black Eyed Peas music to help “Let’s Get It Started”

And to keep it strong and going let’s “Pump It”

(Bless you Mom)
