If you own a Bludomain Flash website and want to increase your search engine referal traffic, congratulations it is possible to make your website the fastest gazelle* in the herd.
Don’t blame Bludomain or Flash for sub-par search engine results. That is the nature of Flash websites. They are what they are and current technology and technique means that to get better results for your Bludomain or Flash based website you need to do some work outside the Flash “box”. And, that is my specialty.
Fortunately if you are a Bludomain website owner, this is very possible. Compared to BigFolio, Show-It, PhotoPalette, ifp3, and most of the others … Bludomain is the best of the Flash based websites for getting to first page organic search engine ranking results. Let me explain and I think you will understand why Bludomain has comparatively such a strong potential SEO advantage for it’s users.
- Bludomain websites are hosted in a conventional manner on a shared server with a complete owner accessible functional cpanel control panel. This is true for both sites that are hosted with Bludomain and Bludomain sites that you have hosted on non-Bludomain host servers. A Bludomain site is truly your site. Unfortunately FlashPalette, BigFolio, Show-It and others do not allow you to have much access to your hosting account.
- Bludomain websites run on internet standard Linux/Apache (LAMP) servers. This host environment has the broadest options for additions (and for the lowest cost) that can assist your website and domain towards front page organic search engine results.
- Because Bludomain allows you access to your host account regardless of where your site is hosted you can add other files and additional third-party applications like WordPress and even RedCart in the same hosting account.
- Importantly Bludomain’s license and user agreement also allow you to make whatever changes to the splash page of your website you want. While you cannot make code changes with the body of website, the splash page is fully accessible and allowed.
These elements all combined mean you have many world class options to increase the Search Engine Optimaization of a Bludoman website that are not available to the users of most other popular Flash based solution for photographers’ websites.
This post got a little longer that I wanted, but I wanted to share some of why if you are committed to using a Flash website, Bludomain is a very good choice.
Now if you want to make sure that your Bludomain website succeeds in the SEO “race”, just use the form on the right to send me a quick email. My specialty is helping photographers get outside the Flash SEO “box” of their website by placing their intact Bludomain website within WordPress for a low cost and preserving their investment of time and money.
Don’t let your Bludomain website be the slowest gazelle. I can give it the SEO speed of a cheetah
*Each morning the gazelle wakes up knowing it must run even faster than the fastest cheetah to survive. Each morning the cheetah wakes up knowing it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. Regardless of whether you are a cheetah or a gazelle, when the sun comes up you better start running.

Hi There,
Your articles is just a bit off, and I would like to make a few corrections. You claim that Showit does not give you access to your hosting, which is not accurate. Those who choose to host themselves have full control.
You also claim that the sole reason why Blu sites rank high is because they are being hosted by themselves?
Lastly, Showit has a feature called “deep linking” which means you can access any page of the flash site with it’s own URL. Furthermore, you can export these html pages on place them on your server so that you have a cloned site in HTML.
I could go on to list the inaccuracies in your article but I really suggest you do more research on Showit before writing an articles like this.
Hi Nick,
I appreciate your comment’s points and taking my call this morning so we could have a discussion. I learned something. In light of the conversation and the areas of agreement, I feel the need to make some clarifications.
You are correct that Show-It has a self hosting option which allows full control of the hosting account owned by the user, and I may have given the reader an understanding that Show-It did not.. But the Show-It self hosting option does not permit hosting of the full site including Flash content, but rather the hosting of the site’s generated HTML pages used to present the Flash content which remains hosted with Show-It. This “double hosting” configuration (HTML on one server, Flash site application on Show-it’s server) is better than some, but is not as good as Bludomain which allows full self hosting of all site Flash content and application. It also creates the situation where a Show-It user can have on-going payments to both Show-It and a third party hosting company for regular site operation. Something which doesn’t happen with Bludomain where you buy the site and then chose hosting option, although there is a one time n additional install charge if you choose not to host with Bludomain
While not the sole reason why a Bludomain site will SEO better, but Bludomain’s site configuration regardless of host offers a significant advantage over Show-It’s in that; with Blu additional applications such as WordPress can be installed in the main domain. Show-It, as we agreed, requires WordPress to be installed in a sub-domain. Unfortunately Google treats sub-domains much like totally separate and different domains from the users main domain, significantly diminishing potential for improved page rank and other SEO benefits.
Show-It is to be commended for being one of the very few that has deep linking to the page level. In this way it is decidedly better than Bludomain. Although in practice, much of the site content such as Introduction, Contact, Investment, About, FAQ is offloaded into WordPress where it SEOs much better than in either Show-it or Bludomain.
Thank you again, Nick. Your comment and our follow-up conversation was very helpful and enjoyable
Hey, I Just want to know that I have flash website which is hosted by Bludomain and need add an opt-in box into the website is this possible? Please reply……..
Yes it is possible to add an opt-in box. Not within the Bludomain flash pages as it will violate Blu’s copyright. But it is very easy to do if you “wrap” the Blu site with WordPress using my Kertesz II to replace the splash page and add more flexibility to the other pages like “About”, “Investment”, “Contact” and the such. Not to over look the integrated Blog. And you get a huge search marketing boost.
Marc, thank you so much for your advice. I’m definately a newbie at SEO, and have been trying to figure things out. Your advice is so appreciated. I’m going to apply the tips you gave me.
Thanks Again
