Every client and potential client I've talked to in the last year has been on a tight budget and they want something not so extravagant yet definitely something unique. I hear terms like "artsy photos" and "photo-journalistic style", etc. They don't want the formals, they don't want to come in, they just want me to show up and do my thing which they get a feel for from some of my various portfolio locations (portfolio website, flickr, event photo locations, facebook, etc.) I’m not really an active professional wedding photographer but I have to say that this is probably right, based on what I’m hearing and what I’ve personally seen.
